DJ Chola is the musical project of Gabriela Guarnizo, a visual artist and painter from Bogotá, a city threaded with both ancestral rhythms and underground frequencies—un pasillo sonoro that led her into music. Now based in Berlin, she channels that duality into her work as a DJ and artist, moving between raw emotion and ecstatic release.

In the club, Gabriela blends reggaetón, cumbia, salsa, son cubano, baile funk, and neo perreo—sounds that are bodily, percussive, and full of heat. Her sets are about movement and memory, drawing from Latin America’s deep pulse while bending it toward something intimate and new. On the radio, she drifts through gauzy layers of shoegaze and dream pop—music for foggy thoughts and emotional weather.
